Bud Light appeals to Monday's Experts with NFL First Round Draft

It never ceases to amaze me just how "up for grabs" US sporting properties are for the willing sponsor.  Last week saw the much talked about annual NFL Draft Pick - a mechanism designed to increase the competitive parity between the teams in the league.  In recent years, the draft as been relatively uncluttered  in terms of sponsor involvement but this year a number of brands, Budweiser amongst them, made big moves to own the spectacle.
Bud's "Best Round Ever" was an online contest which allowed facebook fans to pick a player for each of the 32 slots in the first round of the draft.  The contestant who correctly picks all 32 players can win $10 million.

This is quite a nice activation of an existing platform in the NFL allowing fans to really put their knowledge to the test.  Indeed, it resonates strongly with our "Monday's Experts" platform.  I wonder if it would be possible with Springbok Rugby?  Maybe.  However, the beauty of the NFL is that we are talking about hundreds of players and many teams all of which makes a selection of this nature a show of real football knowledge.  Still, there might be something here we can use.
