Amex Joins hand with Toronto Airport to improve traveller experience

Sponsorship, apart from borrowing equity from a right's holder - is a great opportunity to facilitate unforgettable experiences for fans.  Here's a fantastic non-sporting example involving American Express.  Amex has joined hands with Canada's biggest airport (Toronto Pearson International) to help solve problems and headaches typically experienced by travelers.

A PR release by Amex said the following:

"With 33 million travellers passing through Toronto Pearson every year and the average visitor spending 2.5 hours in the airport, American Express sees this as a perfect venue to promote its brand and to do so in a special way that fits with Toronto Pearson's strategy of improving the guest experience and strengthening the airport's position as a major gateway for Canada and North America"

The partnership offers the following benefits to travelers:

For select Card members  a suite of airport benefits will be available including:
  • Access to fast-track airport security priority lanes in both Terminals 1 and 3
  • Complimentary valet services
  • 15% parking discount
  • Designated taxi and limousine service at arrivals
For non Card members, benefits include:
  • Sponsorship of complimentary wi-fi Internet access throughout the airport
  • Access to special entertainment experiences and an American Express sponsored resting area
