"Don't pomp till we win the Webb Ellis" - Fitzpatrick

Bizarre no?  I suppose stranger things have happened in AdLand but this one surely takes the cake.
Amidst protests and distatefully suggestive remarks about New Zealand's sheep population, NZ Telecom has pulled their "Abstain for the Game" promotion.

Besides the outrageous appeal, the campaign featured a NZ Telecom "abstinence" ring, available to fans for free at all Telecom outlets.

"Ut's bin a torrid 24 hours un the gleer of the public spotlight" said Telecom's Retail Chief Executive Alan Gourdie not even 48 hours after launch.  "Ut's prutty obvious to all thit we musjudged public opuniun"

Mr Gourdie went on to give his "personal apology" for any "embarrassment" the campaign had caused.
